HGH: Haters Gonna Hate

I recently joined this OOTD competition from H&M opening its flagship store for the first time in Manila. I'm a big fan of H&M and Alexander Wang so i felt very excited about the chance to be part of the well known H&M VIP party everytime a new store opens around the world. Basically all I need to do is to post as much fashionable OOTDs as I can, so I decided to post MY best OOTDs hoping that i would get selected as one of the 10 lucky people to get the vip treatment. Looking fashionable doesn't mean you always need to wear expensive clothing. For me fashion is about expressing yourself and being comfortable with what you wear even if it's from a thrift shop or hand-me-downs from other people. I felt very confident just by looking at other guys' ootds, I really wanted to win really bad haha, I was checking my Twitter (@bancorodino) every single day until one day before the announcement of winners I received a message on Twitter from H&M requesting to get my contact information then they called me and I felt like I won the lottery. Another dream is gonna come true. Sadly, I received a lot of hatred from other people saying I don't deserve to win because my photos are edited. Yes my photos are edited. I enhanced every single photo making an extra effort so my OOTDs will stand out from the rest. H&M did not say that you can't post edited or enhanced photos. I own these photos and nobody can tell me that I cheated because I did not CHEAT. I joined a lot of competitions, 95% of the time I lose but losing is not a reason for me to be bitter and hateful to others. When I lose I learn something from that experience and strive harder to be better the next time. This time I felt like I really deserve this win. Goodnight everyone. ^_^

Design Series Part 4 (I Love Paris)

Good news everyone! The Paris Hilton liked 2 of my designs on Instagram and said it was cool. I wasn't expecting that big of a celebrity will like my design, like I just started designing and I didn't get much compliment from people I do everything on my own, I don't even have a mentor and to get that compliment from Paris Hilton is just a jaw-dropping confirmation that I am doing something right. I was so amazed when I saw that notification pop up I almost dropped my ipad, at first I am hesitant to believe that it was the Paris'official instagram account, upon doing my research I found out that she was the real Paris Hilton. Wow!!! So, check my new designs. ^_^

Design Illustration Overview

Hi! I'm about to show you an overview of my designing process. First part will be the base which is obviously a model's body from Google, I would usually pick photos with nude models or with skin tone almost bare undergarments on them, that way it is easy for me to lay the design on the body. Next up, I pick the fabric on Google, you will notice I only lay the design on one side of the model's body that's because as of the moment I am in love with the mirror effect. These two designs are part of my Spider Design Collection. Goodnight!

Spider Design Collection Part 1

I would like to present to you my first ever design collection of haute couture creations from my imagination inpired by spiders. Ever since I was a kid Ive always wanted fashion but I lost my focus and was out of track with my dreams because of practicality and financial reasons. Growing up from a very unfortunate family in the Philippines, we struggled so much financially that my parents did not afford to send me to a fashion school. But then I realized no matter what I do it's fashion that makes me happy and that I am destined to be a fashion designer. To become part of the fashion industry in the Philippines is hard because of the huge competition. Many times I tried to become part of it but it seems like the industry is pushing me away. Eventhough I was not formally educated with fashion like I dont know how to sew, cut, pattern or even measure a body. I taught myself to do things out of the book. 99% of the time my designs are just illustrations on my sketch pad. With my limitations due to absence of knowledge and equipments I finally decided to forget these limitations and not let it hinder me to reach my dreams. Being a computer savvy myself, I figured ways on how I can bring my designs to reality, simply by creating realistic illustrations using the real fabrics and materials I want to use, this way I have my Google as my fabric shop and Paint Application for my sewing machine. So here it is, I hope you like the first part of my spider design collection.

I believe that everyone can reach their dreams by doing something to achieve it in your own little way, just do something! This is the start of the journey. ^_^
